Texas Woman is Hit-and-Run Suspect

Parents often want to protect their children from harm no matter what the cost. They try to instill safety rules in children while they are young and to teach them that certain areas, such as roadways, can be dangerous. Parents want children to look both ways before crossing the street, and parents often accompany children when they do cross the street. Unfortunately, even with these precautions, an accident can happen leaving a child injured.

A Texas father was walking across a street with his young daughter when he noticed a speeding car heading in their direction. Presumably wanting to protect his daughter, the father moved in front of her just before the car collided with them. The collision caused the father to be knocked into the young girl, and she suffered a broken leg. The driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the scene. It was not reported what, if any, injuries the father sustained as a result of the hit-and-run.

Police are continuing to investigate and have a suspect for whom they are on the lookout. The suspect is a 23-year-old woman driving a gray colored vehicle. Authorities are encouraging anyone who may have information on the suspect to call and report their information.

A Texas Hit-and-Run Attorney can Help Win Financial Compensation

The father’s courageous act possibly saved his daughter from a more terrible fate though she still sustained a serious injury in the accident. If and when the suspect is caught, the father may wish to file a personal injury claim against the driver deemed at fault. The young girl and father will undoubtedly go through much pain and suffering, and they may wish to look into Texas personal injury laws to determine if they may be entitled to compensation for the driver’s recklessness.
