Austin Texas Hit and Run Leaves 2 Dead
When an individual is involved in one car accident, their night may seem to have taken a turn for the worst. However, if that party attempts to flee the scene, their night could become even more unfortunate as they could potentially harm someone else. Remaining on the scene of an initial crash is likely the better option than attempting to flee and being involved in a fatal car accident later.
Unfortunately, a vehicle in Texas was possibly involved in two car accidents after attempting to flee the scene of the first accident. The driver of a van reportedly called authorities after being involved in a car accident in which the other driver left crash site. The van driver apparently followed the other vehicle, but the vehicle was speeding away. By the time the van driver caught up with the suspected vehicle, that vehicle had been involved in another crash.
The second crash involved the car that was possibly involved in the earlier hit and run and another vehicle that had apparently been traveling through an intersection. The first vehicle reportedly collided with the side of the second vehicle, which resulted in the deaths of two occupants of that second vehicle. At this time the accident is still under investigation as authorities work to determine whether the first vehicle was involved in the initial hit-and-run crash and if any extenuating factors such as alcohol contributed to the situation.
A Texas Hit-and-Run Accident Attorney can Help Win Financial Compensation
If the vehicle involved in that fatal car accident is determined to have also been involved in the initial hit and run, some may think that the second crash could have been avoided if the driver had remained on the scene of the first collision. This thought could be especially difficult for the families of the deceased victims who must now deal with the loss of their loved ones. As a result, they may face significant pain and suffering from their loss. If they wish to pursue legal action against the driver deemed at fault, information on Texas wrongful death claims could possibly help them on their path to potential compensation.
