One Dead after Pedestrian Hit and Run
The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a recent highway collision that killed one person and injured two others. The driver suspected of causing the hit and run accident remains at large. Reports indicate that road conditions were wet and slippery at the time of the crash.
The tragedy occurred on a recent Saturday morning on Interstate 45. It seems that a driver made a lane change in an unsafe manner and subsequently struck another vehicle. The second vehicle was reported to have then lost control on the wet road and slammed into a barrier, coming to a halt across two lanes of traffic. Another vehicle then struck the car that was stopped in the middle of the road.
A 46-year-old female passenger in the vehicle that was hit died at the scene of the accident. A 51-year-old male who was driving the car later stated that the two had been en route to a hospital in order to receive medical treatment. It was determined that both occupants were natives of Pakistan, and police were not certain if they had any relatives or friends in the area.
Victims of Hit and Run Accidents can Seek Damages through an Attorney
The driver of the first vehicle is being sought for a hit and run accident. Once that driver is located, immediate family members of the deceased would be able to file a wrongful death claim in a civil court. Consulting an attorney with experience in Texas motor vehicle accidents would be prudent on the part of family members who might be considering formal litigation. In similar cases involving the untimely death of a loved one, appropriate proof of negligence resulted in a monetary judgment for financial damages incurred.
