Parents of Teen Die in Truck Crash
A tragedy recently occurred in Texas that left a young man orphaned. The truck accident resulted in criminal charges being filed against one of the motorists. The responding police officer reached out in kindness when he learned that the teen, whose parents were both killed in the crash, was about to graduate from high school.
The tragic accident occurred in late May 2015. According to reports, a man behind the wheel of a pickup truck smashed into a motorcycle that was carrying two occupants. The married couple traveling together on the motorcycle did not survive the crash. The driver of the pickup was charged and now faces two counts of manslaughter.
Sadly, the responding officer at the scene was tasked with telling an 18-year-old young man that both of his parents had been killed in the accident. The high school senior, obviously grief-stricken, told the officer that he was days away from celebrating his graduation. It was reported that the police officer reached out to the teen by attending his graduation ceremony, where the two were seen sharing a tearful embrace.
