Woman Killed, Child Injured in Head-On Collision
A Denton road became the scene of a Texas tragedy on a recent Saturday night. The fatal car accident occurred a couple hours before midnight. Police and fire units both responded to the emergency.
According to reports, the accident seems to have been caused by a man who was driving the wrong-way on the road. The 33-year-old was said to have been traveling, head-on, into traffic and struck another vehicle. He suffered a minor injury to his foot. It was also reported that the man has been criminally charged with negligent homicide and is being held in jail on a $35,000 bond.
Sadly, a 22-year-old female who was behind the wheel of the car that was struck did not survive the accident. It was reported that first responders found her, deceased, inside her vehicle. A 5-year-old boy was traveling with the young woman. A passer-by was reportedly rendering aid to the child when first responders arrived at the scene.

The child was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious head and facial injuries. A recent update listed him in critical condition.
