Arlington, Texas Baby Killed in Pedestrian Accident
An initial collision can quickly cause a chain reaction of events that can have detrimental outcomes. In many cases, the results are unforeseeable but no less devastating. A fatal pedestrian accident that occurs due to several actions taking place at once can leave everyone involved — as well as family members — distraught.
What started out as a car accident in Texas, quickly turned into a fatal pedestrian accident. The situation reportedly began when a vehicle traveling north attempted to make a left turn and was struck by a southbound pickup truck. The collision caused the truck to leave the roadway and strike a father and 7-month-old baby on the sidewalk.
The baby was reportedly in a stroller that the father was pushing. The two were on the side of the road waiting to utilize the crosswalk when the accident occurred. The father and one of the drivers involved reportedly suffered minor injuries, but the baby was fatally injured and declared dead at the scene. At this time, authorities are working to determine which vehicle had the green light and who may have been at fault for the accident.
A Texas Personal Injury Attorney can Help Win Financial Compensation from Pedestrian Accidents
Losing a baby is every parent’s nightmare, and the situation can seem even more unfathomable when the death comes due to a fatal pedestrian accident. The parents of the baby may have a difficult time coming to terms with the event and moving on from the situation. As a result, they may consider filing a wrongful death claim against the driver deemed at fault. Though a claim cannot bring their child back, a successful case could allow them to potentially gain monetary reparations for their loss, pain and suffering and other damages that Texas law permits.
