Car Crashes into Austin's SXSW Crowd, 2 Fatalities
When a festival is held in any area, it can often draw large crowds who wish to socialize and see the attractions that are appearing. Such an unfortunate event took place at the South By Southwest festival that was underway in Texas. According to reports, a driver left the roadway a drove into a crowd of people who were waiting outside of a club. There was a barricade that had been set up in order to separate the crowds from the road, but that unfortunately did not stop the vehicle.
At the time of the report, two individuals had died as a result of the accident, and at least five others were critically injured. The vehicle continued traveling after initially hitting the crowd and struck several pedestrians. The driver was taken into custody and is facing numerous charges including murder and aggravated assault. Alcohol is suspected to have played a role in the accident.
