Two Texas Children Hospitalized Following Accident on H73
Many parents are unable to take their children to and from school due to their schedules or other reasons. Therefore, many parties put their trust in school buses to safely transport their children to their school. Unfortunately, other drivers may not be as easily trusted, and a car accident involving children could take place.
An accident in Texas recently occurred when two children were walking from a school bus to their residence. Reports state that a driver of a truck did not see the stopped bus, which had its lights flashing, and lost control after attempting a sudden stop. Consequently, the truck hit the two children who had just exited the bus.
Both of the children were trapped under the truck until rescue crews were able to extract them. Both of the victims reportedly suffered serious injuries, but those injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. The children were listed as being 13-years-old and 14-years-old. The driver of the truck was not injured in the incident. Authorities are continuing to investigate the serious accident, and more information may be available as the investigation concludes.
A Texas Car Accident Injury Attorney can Help Win Financial Compensation
A car accident involving children becoming seriously injured is always an unfortunate event. The family of the two victims is undoubtedly relieved to learn that the children are likely to recover from their serious injuries. However, during their recovery, the children could face much pain and suffering, and the family could see significant financial issues due to medical costs for treatment of injuries. As a result, the family may wish to look into their legal options for seeking compensation against the driver deemed at fault for medical bills and other damages allowable under Texas law.
