Texas School Bus Crash Injures Children
Many parents utilize the option of letting their children ride the bus to and from school. Though they may believe it is a safe mode of transportation, a car accident involving a school bus can occur. In such a situation, drivers of the bus and any other vehicles involved and any occupants of either vehicle could be at risk for injury.
An accident occurred in Texas involving a school bus carrying 41 children and a smaller vehicle. Details of the accident were not given in the updated report, though visuals of the car involved seen in the video report showed damage to the front of that vehicle. The report also indicated that charges relating to the accident were pending due to the hospitalization of those involved.
The driver of the smaller vehicle was transported to the hospital and has not yet been released as of the time of the report. The bus driver also sustained injuries and was transported from the scene, though he declined medical attention at first. Of the children on the bus, just over a dozen were taken to the hospital though none sustained life-threatening injuries.
A Texas Bus Crash Attorney can Help Win Financial Compensation
A car accident resulting in several injuries could cause a great deal of anxiety for those involved. As the driver of the smaller vehicle involved appears to have sustained serious injuries due to his extended hospital stay, he could face an accumulation of medical bills and other resulting issues. If the driver of the bus is deemed at fault for the accident, the other driver may wish to contemplate pursuing a personal injury claim against the school bus driver and/or any other parties deemed responsible in order to possibly gain compensation for damages permitted under Texas law.
