San Antonio, Texas Truck Crash Kills Two
When a compact vehicle is involved in an accident with a much larger vehicle, those in the smaller vehicle run a higher risk of becoming seriously injured. If the larger automobile is a tractor trailer, many may fear the worst when it comes to injuries. A tractor trailer accident can easily result in fatalities, and a collision in Texas was unfortunately one of those cases.
Two people died as a result of a head-on collision involving an 18-wheeler. According to reports the two victims were in a vehicle when the driver of the tractor trailer failed to maintain the proper lane. After the rig drifted into oncoming traffic, the two vehicles collided. The 46-year-old driver and 15-year-old passenger in the other vehicle were both killed.
The driver of the 18-wheeler reportedly did not sustain any injuries as a result of the crash. It was not reported whether the driver could be facing any charges at this time. Authorities should continue conducting an investigation into the events that took place to determine more specific details.
A Tractor Trailer Attorney can Help Win Financial Compensation
A tractor trailer accident can have serious repercussions for the people involved as well as for the loved ones of the victims. Family members must come to terms with the loss of the woman and teenager who were killed in the crash and also face the unpleasant task of arranging two funerals. As if their pain and suffering due to their losses were not enough, they could also face serious financial setbacks. They may wish to pursue a wrongful death claim against the driver deemed at fault for damages allowable under Texas law to determine whether they may be entitled to compensation.
