Texas Woman Killed, Kids Injured in Car Crash
Texas authorities in Houston say a shoplifting incident resulted in a wild chase that ended when the suspects’ vehicle crashed into another car in Houston recently. The fatal car accident occurred in late May at an intersection in the northwest section of the city. A mother was traveling through the intersection, accompanied by her three children when the tragedy took place.
Law enforcement personnel say a car containing three women was being pursued after the occupants reportedly stole some items from a store in Humble. The driver apparently sped through a red light and crashed into the mother’s vehicle. The mother died at the scene of the crash, and the three suspected thieves attempted to flee the scene of the crash on foot. They were, however, apprehended by authorities, and the driver will reportedly face murder charges. She was detained on a $50,000 bond, and it is not known what charges the passengers in her vehicle may face as well.
In addition to the mother’s death, the three children were all said to be seriously injured. They were transported to a hospital. The specific nature of their injuries was not further detailed.
A Texas Car Accident Attorney can Help Win Financial Compensation
As the criminal charges are processed in a Texas courtroom, the victims’ family is likely shattered as a result of the fatal car accident. Besides mourning the passing of the mother and making final arrangements for her, the family and community are all surely praying for the full recovery of the children. The lives of the children, and those of other family members, have been forever altered, and any criminal conviction achieved against the woman deemed responsible for the crash will not change the breadth of the tragedy. If the family chooses to do so, the survivors have the separate option of pursuing a wrongful death and personal injury lawsuit in a civil court on behalf of the deceased woman’s estate and the three seriously injured children.
