Central Texas Man on Trial for Crash that Killed 2

One year after they lost their loved ones in a terrible car crash, two families will find out the fate of the man accused of causing the accident. The Texas criminal trial of the driver recently began. The outcome will likely be of great interest to the friends and family of the two individuals killed in the fatal auto accident that took place in April 2012.

Police assert that the 24-year-old man who will stand trial was in the process of fleeing from police at the time of the crash. He was attempting to elude pursuing police officers when he ran a red light and multiple stop signs. He eventually lost control of his vehicle as he attempted to make a turn.

As a result, his Chevrolet Tahoe went airborne before crashing into a utility pole. The force of the impact was sufficient to nearly cleave the vehicle in two. The driver and a passenger in the front of the Tahoe survived the crash. Two people riding in the rear of the vehicle were fatally injured. The driver attempted to flee the scene on foot, but was apprehended by Texas police.

A Texas Auto Accident Lawyer can Help Win Financial Compensation

The driver is currently facing murder charges in the fatal auto accident case, and will present his defense in front of a Texas court. In addition to the outcome of his criminal trial in the matter, he could face additional hearings for civil lawsuits. The families of the two deceased individuals have the option of pursuing wrongful death suits against the driver. Any information or evidence presented at his criminal trial could assist them in making their own cases against him.
