Galveston County, TX Court to See Car Accident Suit
A car accident that occurred two years ago resulted in a lawsuit filed last week in Galveston County Court. A League City, Texas, man is suing a driver for an accident that occurred in Amarillo resulting in severe injuries.
The plaintiff in this case was a passenger in a vehicle hit by the defendant’s sports utility vehicle. The car accident occurred while the plaintiff was being driven by a co-worker to the Rick Husband Airport in Amarillo.
According to the petition, the driver of the SUV “swerved violently to the left, crossing over multiple access lanes that had separated the paths of his vehicle and the vehicle in which the plaintiff was traveling and plowed directly, violently and forcefully into the passenger side of the vehicle in which the plaintiff was traveling.”

The plaintiff immediately sought medical attention before flying home to Houston where he then had to be hospitalized. The suit does not refer to the condition of the driver of the car.
The suit claims the defendant was careless, distracted and did not observe traffic conditions, causing him to lose control of the SUV and crash.
The plaintiff is seeking at least $100,000 in damages and requested a jury trial. Victims of car accidents often seek restitution for medical bills, loss of income, and pain and suffering. The length of time needed to resolve a case like this depends on several factors including the degree of injury and whether or not medical treatment is ongoing, and the back log of the court system.
